Ethos

At the Oxfordshire Language School we believe that the most important ingredient for effective language teaching and learning is a warm and friendly learning environment within which our students feel relaxed, valued and happy. We keep our class sizes small, to a maximum of sixteen students, and focus on creating those special connections within the group where learning, and friendships, can flourish. You will mix with different nationalities from across Europe, and we aim to have no more than two mother-tongue speakers of each language in each group, so that even when we socialise outside of class and go on excursions together, you will speak English with your fellow students.

You will also have plenty of opportunity to spend time with your hosts, who will treat you as a member of their family for the duration of your stay, allowing you to experience an authentic English way of life and practise speaking with them in a relaxed environment. In this way we create a ‘full-immersion’ experience of language learning and cultural exchange from which you can take renewed confidence in your language skills as well as lasting friendships from England and across Europe.
