About the Founder

Hello, my name is Jane and language learning and travel have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I studied French and Italian at university and was lucky enough to take part in Erasmus programmes in France and Italy which allowed me to study and work in those countries while making many great friendships along the way. I have studied in small language schools and been on exchange trips, staying with host families, and I know how invaluable and life-changing those experiences are when learning a language and discovering a new culture.

I have worked as a tour-guide in Paris and Birmingham (my home town, known for its fantastic diverse population of cultures and languages) and have taught English and French for many years, gaining the CELTA (Certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages), and PGCE (Post-graduate Certificate in Education, modern languages) from the The University of Oxford. These experiences have shaped my life for the better and I do believe that if everyone had the opportunity to learn a foreign language in-situ and experience a culture different from their own, the world would be a happier place. Today we are so lucky to have many ways to communicate and share our cultures with the world but nothing can beat visiting a country in person, seeing the delights it has to offer, meeting its people and speaking the language in authentic environments.
